2015 Lunch and Learn Series (Catawba Archaeology of the Late 18th Century)

In the late 18th century the Catawba Nation faced epidemics, conflict, and an influx of new neighbors that forced them to dramatically change the way they lived. David Cranford, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of North Carolina, will be explaining these changes and how the recent archaeological investigations in York and Lancaster County have provided new insights into how this community adjusted to its new realities. The Native American Studies Center invites all to attend free monthly lectures with topics related to local or regional history. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
