You've probably noticed that we have a whole heap of changes on our website ... it's a major redesign for our articles.
For the past few months, we've had a few bugs on our site. We got lots of great feedback from you guys, and we tried to give you everything you were asking for in this latest redesign.
Here's an overview of some of the yummy new features:
Our new homepage integrates our site better than ever, pulling in our articles, highlighting the new stuff with our "Dig This" tiles, linking to our special publications, like Best Of, making our restaurant and event searches more prominent, highlighting our deals, events, and connection opportunities, and pulling in the latest from our blogs and podcasts.
It's a nice clean look that we're really proud of.
Just click on any RSS icon to peruse our selection of feeds ... by author, by section or just a plain vanilla "All Articles" feed.
Just click on the byline on any story (e.g. By Hollis Gillespie) to get a list of recent articles by your favorite author. We'll also be adding short author bios here, so you can get the scoop on your favorite writer.
A new page offers up the latest from CL's blogs and podcasts
For those of you who can't get enough of our stories, we've created an "All Articles" page with quick navigation to everything. Just click on "All Articles" -- that little link under the cover story on the homepage
Taking a cue from one of our favorite sites (Salon.com), we've added Editor's Picks ... a way to highlight some of the best in our recent stories.
We've fixed the problems with screwy images; giving you lots of clean space in which to read.
Right around the corner, we'll be adding:
Big shout-out time: None of the goodness you're seeing would have been possible without the efforts of our Web Team: Webmasters Edward Adams and Aaron Karp, and our new online producer, Alejandro Leal.
Our friends at DesertNet really kicked out the jams on this project -- we're thrilled to be working with such pros.
And of course many thanks to the many folks at CL who've helped out in various ways on this site launch. In no particular order, big ups to Murray Grevious, Doug Tuthill, Ben Eason, John Yardley, Jim Harris, Lea Holland, Markus Schneider, Katie Kaiser, Sonia Clark .... and anyone else I'm forgetting.
Please let us know what you think of the redesign ... we're always looking to improve. Send your thoughts to online@cln.com.
