A Concert of Modern and Traditional Spirituals

The FireBird Singers will perform a program of modern and traditional spirituals in a free concert June 26 in Concord, raising money for a local charitie.
The 15-member group is devoted exclusively to a cappella (unaccompanied) music. The auditioned singers are seasoned choral musicians from across the Charlotte region.
The concert is free; an offering will be taken on behalf of the church's backpack program, providing backpacks loaded with nonperishable food items for children at Coltrane-Webb Elementary School to take home who otherwise wouldn't have a healthy meal outside school.
