Altered Reality

For their five-year anniversary party, the folks who make up Culture Initiative want to stimulate your senses. The show Altered Reality will feature art, sculptures and other objects that have been manipulated by local artists. This includes thrift store finds, album covers and other already existing pieces. More than 50 artists are participating, including William Puckett, Kate Vasseur, Sharon Dowell, Alexandra Loesser, John Hairston, Scott Partridge, Virginia Dunn, Amy Bagwell, Joel Tracey, Rosalia Torres-Weiner, Scott Whiteside, Mark Doepker, and Nico Amortegui, among others. Also on the evening’s agenda: interactive art, a “blind” taste-and-smell project (chefs Ben Philpot of Block & Grinder, Nicholas Daniels of The Wooden Vine and Michael Rayfield of The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge will be onsite), live music (Megan Jean and the Klay Family Band, Radio Lola, Ancient Cities, DJ Arthur Bros. and Joel Khouri) and a photo booth.
