If you want to probe into the artistic mindset of Andreas Bechtler, a patron of Charlotte's lavish modern art facility Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, here's your chance. Bechtler, himself an artist of note, grew up in Switzerland around some of modern art's most renowned figures, so we're pretty sure he learned a thing or two. His current solo exhibit, Andreas Bechtler, The Artist, is showcasing at UNC Charlotte's Projective Eye Gallery Uptown. In it, Bechtler has included abstract photography of both altered landscapes and strangely arranged figurines — an unusual, yet captivating current in his works. Turn your trip into a crawl of sorts by making a final stop at the Bechtler Museum, where you can see his portion of his family’s impressive art collection.
