When brothers Eteocles and Polyneices slaughter each other in a civil war for the crown, their sisters Antigone and Ismene are left with only each other. But when their uncle and new king, Creon, decrees that only one will have a burial, Antigone must choose between law and family, between obedience and justice. Sophocles' classical political drama is no less relevant today than it was when written nearly 2,500 years ago. In Innate Productions' adaptation, the themes of civil rights, gender politics, and the necessity of antagonism in creating change shine a light on our current political and cultural landscape.
