Ashes to Go

When: Wed., Feb. 10, 8-8:45, 11-11:45 a.m. & 1-1:45 p.m. 2016

For the fourth year, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will take to the streets of uptown Charlotte to carry out the ancient tradition of Ash Wednesday—marking a cross in ashes on the foreheads of Christians who want to acknowledge the significance of the season leading up to Easter. This annual Ashes to Go sidewalk ministry will be offered three times on Ash Wednesday in front of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at the corner of North Tryon and West Seventh streets. In the Christian tradition, Ash Wednesday marks the start of the 40-day season of Lent.
