Bon Odori Festival

When: Sat., Aug. 9, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. 2014

There’s much more to Japanese than Hibachi dishes. This annual festival — now in its 30th year — includes the usual cultural elements of traditional music, dance and food, but there are also activities like tea ceremonies, calligraphy demos, a yukata (a Japanese garment similar to a kimono) fitting , origami crafts and more. Matsuriza — a Taiko drum troupe that performs regularly at Disney World’s Epcot Center — returns. (Anita Overcash)
