Guitarist/keyboardist Tom Scholz remains the only original member of Boston, an essential element of high school soundtracks in the ’70s and ’80s. Original vocalist Brad Delp committed suicide in 2007 and Charlotte’s Tommy DeCarlo was hired to fill a big set of shoes. The band’s latest record, last year’s Life Love & Hope, suffers from too many guest singers, but Scholz’s technical and guitar wizardry remain intact. (Samir Shukla)
