Many of the issues Charlotte faces today — gentrification, school segregation, homelessness — are related directly to the city’s lack of affordable housing. For its third annual Building Futures symposium, Habitat for Humanity invites Dr. Tererai Trent, an internationally renowned scholar, humanitarian, motivational speaker, educator and author who recently won the 2018 NAACP Award for Outstanding Instructional Literary Work for her book, The Awakened Woman.
