Charlotte African-American Festival

When: Sat., Feb. 15, 1-7 p.m. 2014
Price: Free admission
Celebrating the African-American community at large, this event includes music, art, dancing, drumming, food and more. There will also be marching band and step competitions, a pageant, guest speakers, vendors and an awards ceremony. To give the fest an extra educational touch, a Harriet Tubman impersonator will guide visitors through an “Underground Railroad” trail, and there will be other impersonators along “The Famous Black History Walk of Fame.” (Anita Overcash)
