This event will consist of two panel discussions, each addressing current issues of marriage law and the legal issues for the LGBT community implicated by both federal and state amendments. The morning panel will be an academic discussion of the legal and social theories fueling the current DOMA and PROP 8 cases before the Supreme Court. Mara Keisling from the National Center for Transgender Equality will present a keynote speech over lunch, followed by a practice-oriented afternoon panel discussion amongst attorneys from NC, NY, and GA. All perspectives and beliefs are welcome. Please email events@charlottelaw.edu to sign up in advance.
