Professor of History at Penn State University Garret Fagan will discuss "How to Stage a Roman Bloodbath: Theatricality and Artificiality in the Roman Arena." In conjunction with the lecture, Vail Commons will host a dinner featuring meals based on the Roman cookbook written by Apicius in the 4th or 5th century A.D. The cost is $7.25 for faculty/staff and $13.26 for the general public. Pay at the door. Dinner begins at 6 p.m., lecture at 7:30 p.m. in Vail Commons. For more information call 704-894-2318.
