Coal ash activists have organized this event to raise awareness of the looming disasters associated with Duke Energy’s coal ash ponds that dot North Carolina. Four short films highlight the environmental damage, public policy and health concerns related to coal ash. They will also explain how communities around the country are managing the situations. This is a good time for residents to learn about what they can do to protect themselves and voice their concerns about coal ash. For more information, visit www.workingfilms.org. (Anita Overcash)
