The RaconTour Dark History Tour is a one-hour storytelling adventure through the dark history of Uptown Charlotte. Topics include: The Crime of the Century Charlotte’s secret gold mines Settlers Cemetery’s Gray Lady Charlotte’s speakeasies The ghost of the Carolina Theater Charlotte’s earliest mortgage scam The Bodysnatching Business in Charlotte I start from the southwest corner of Trade and Tryon (the corner with the clock) and proceed west, then north, then east back to Tryon over about 5 blocks. This tour takes about 1-1.5 hours.
