Eliot Bronson, Dean Fields
A former member of the folk duo The Brilliant Inventions, Eliot Bronson has forged a strong solo path since the band’s 2010 breakup. His 2012 album, Milwaukee, struck the right chord with Charlotteans thanks to the title track, a tribute to local musician Rodney Lanier who died of esophageal cancer in 2011. Bronson returned to the studio with a stunning collection of poetic songs released last year. (Jeff Hahne)
