Gaudium Musicae: Passio: The Passion of the Christ
Arvo Pärt's Passio, (full title: Passio Domini Nostri Jesu Christi secundum Joannem), will be performed by VOX, The Firebird Arts Sinfonia, and Neal Sharpe, baritone soloist. David Tang will be conducting. This is a powerful and mesmerizing rendering of the Christ Passion using Pärt's own compositional style he named "Tintinnabuli," which was influenced by the composer's mystical experiences with chant music.
