'Gook' Film Screening

When: Thu., Aug. 17, 7:30 p.m. 2017
Price: $10

Technical difficulties stopped Gook from screening at CineOdyssey Film Festival in July, but that’s no reason to give up. Revisit the CineOdyssey experience with this flick about two Korean-American brothers who befriend an 11-year-old African-American girl, while defending their struggling shoe store from the impending chaos of the ‘92 L.A. riots. The movie pays homage to Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing in both execution and style in examining race relations in the early ‘90s.
