Iain Matthews, Slade Baird

When: Thu., Sept. 14, 7:30 p.m. 2017
Price: $15-18

Founding member of legendary 1960s British folk-rock band Fairport Convention — along with guitarist Richard Thompson and the late, great singer Sandy Denny — Iain Matthews brings his solo acoustic act to Charlotte, with local singer-songwriter Slade Baird of Amigo opening. It’s a stellar one-two punch you don’t want to miss. After all, it took a nudge from former Zeppelin singer Robert Plant to get Matthews back into the studio after years away. Matthews’ latest is aptly named The Art of Obscurity.
