Piedmont and Tuscany are two of the world's most famous wine regions. Piedmont is home to Barolo and Barbaresco (both from the noble Nebbiolo grape), while Tuscany touts Brunello (a stately showing of Sangiovese). Plus, both regions have additional first-class wines on offer. So what exactly makes these regions so special? In this intermediate class, we'll taste classic producers and see for ourselves. We'll cover: history of the regions; geology and climate; appellations and classifications; and vintages.
