Irata, from Greensboro, NC, defy specific categorization. Their sound dodges to the side or straight up smashes through genre barriers with a dexterous, infectious groove.
Members are:
Jason Ward: drums/percussion/vocals
Jon Case: bass guitar/ vocals
Cheryl Manner: guitar
Owen Burd: guitar/vocals
October 2015 saw the release of Irata's most recent work, "Sweet Loris."
In 2016 the band traveled a large portion of both the Eastern and Western United States.
2017 tours included a West Side tour with Freedom Hawk in February, and an Eastern jaunt into Canada with All Them Witches, and a fall run with Caustic Casanova.
A new release is anticipated within the year.
