Learn to play the fundamentals of Latin Jazz. Led by notable local Latin jazz musicians and educators, workshop participants will learn to perform the Latin Jazz repertoire, including clave rhythm, and fundamentals including form, reading, composing, arranging and Latin jazz history. This is a unique opportunity for middle and high school students. Instruments include Woodwinds, Brass, Rhythm Section, and Percussion. Auditions January 18th & January 25th. This workshop is FREE. With space limited, registration and audition is required. This program is made possible through special grants from Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina and Arts & Science Council.
