Soul songstress Jill Scott made waves in the last week after her stirring rendition of Billie Holiday’s protest song “Strange Fruit.” Scott performed the number at the Shining a Light concert spotlighting race in America. While more household names might have been on the bill, it’s Scott whose performance was the most memorable. Scott’s fifth studio album, Woman, was released over the summer. (Jeff Hahne)
