This “Surfing to Shockwave” Tour will spotlight music from the guitarist’s 30-year career, including music he hasn’t performed live before. A member of the supergroup Chickenfoot, Satriani’s solo material is instrumental and spotlights his intricate playing style. Satriani, who has played with a who’s who in the music world, started out as a teacher, with students including Steve Vai Larry LaLonde of Primus and Metallica’s Kirk Hammett. (Jeff Hahne)
