Powell may have played 400+ shows in the last two years, but he’s far from weary. Reinvigorated by a new set of unaffected, lucid, and experimental folk songs, he’s bringing his show from the sultry Southeast up into the Midwest, dodging winter like a snowbird troubadour. With cleverly honed stories covering everything from gun control politics and the decline of the American auto industry, to deer hunting and birth control, Powell is known to evoke an attentive hush from even the diviest bars.
