Experimental is an understatement. The latest album from Brooklyn-by-way-of-Boston’s Kayo Dot, Coffins on Io, has been described as “retro-future noir” and “weird-heavy.” The band’s brand of avant-goth, jazz-infused, prog-metal (and really that’s not enough words for a description of its music) is unique, to say the least.
