The sublime Lalah Hathaway returns to Charlotte on the heels of the February 3 release of her new album Honestly. And honestly, it’s good. From the clipped acoustic-guitar intro of the title song — whose video intersperses powerful images from Black Lives Matter and Standing Rock protests — to her soul-affirming vocals on the uplifting “Change Ya Life,” Hathaway continues to inspire. We’re pretty sure her legendary late daddy Donny Hathaway would be proud.
