Mountain Goats, Heather McEntire
Currently a three-piece, The Mountain Goats have gone through several iterations since releasing a series of lo-fi cassettes in 1991, but they’ve always revolved around singer/songwriter, guitarist John Darnielle. Darnielle is a storyteller first and musician second, spinning sharp, surreal sketches that are both photo-realist and fever dream. His folk-based songs are pop gems, catchy melodies with surging horns that balance delicacy with gravitas. (Jeff Hahne)
