MUSIC: All Time Low at The Fillmore Charlotte

Tuesday, March 29

There's a ton of pop-punk and emo pop bands out there, so they've gotta have something extra to rouse this scribe. All Time Low straddles the middle line. They've got a slew of hum-along numbers to be sure, but there's not much new ground covered, either. The Baltimore combo does have just enough oomph for staying power, including an enticing fron tman Alex Gaskarth, and the band's playful songcraft is a further boost. They tour heavily, another positive checkmark. The new album Dirty Work is slated for release in the near future. With Yellowcard, Hey Monday and the Summer Set. $32.75. 6:30 p.m. The Fillmore Charlotte, 1000 Seaboard St. 704-549-5555

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
