This is a past event.
Last time we spotted folk singer Nahko Bear and his tribe, they were parading through San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, dancing, singing and playing instruments with no amps. A crowd of followers danced and sang along as Nahko offered up his self-described medicine for the people. Creative Loafing editor-in-chief Mark Kemp was at the Bay Area-based Acoustic Guitar magazine at the time, and he snagged Nahko for the performance and interview session in this video. Nahko is America circa 2018: part Apache, part Puerto Rican, part Filipino and all social justice. He’s America’s great hope — and Trump Nation’s biggest nightmare.
