A McDowell County native, Matthew B Jaynes better know as a revolution outlaw, has been creating outsider art since the age of six. He has developed a unique artistic style. Sometimes sweet, sometimes psychotically surrealistic, his asylum artwork emerges dream-like from that liminal state between awakeness and the Land of Nod. The artist's own struggle with the dualistic nature of God informs his every piece be they etched glass, ink-on-paper, or airbrushed objects, Each and every one painstakingly handcrafted
