Dr. Janette Greenwood of Clark University in Worcester, MA, wrote an award-winning book, Bittersweet Legacy, which covers Charlotte from 1850-1910. She will discuss the crucial role that Charlotte's black community played in the making of this book and the power that local people possess in documenting and recovering their past.
