Sharon Dowell is one of Charlotte’s most prominent artists for good reason. Her artwork — mostly figurative and of landscapes — pops. Bridges and rural spots get a colorful new life on canvas when Dowell uses them as a muse. She was recently comissioned to do a large mural for UNC-Charlotte Center City.
