Corpses. That could be part of the reason why 2012’s Sightseers is considered a black comedy. The film, directed by British director Ben Wheatley, stars Alice Lowe and Steve Oram (also co-writers for the show with Amy Jump), who play an oddball couple embarking on their first romantic getaway across the countryside. While their RV takes them far away from family drama, they in turn encounter the unpleasant and annoying aromas of random folks who cross their path. This causes the funny, yet psychotic lovebirds to take a homicidal turn for the worse. Clearly, it’s their way or the highway. For more information, visit www.backalleyfilmseries.com.
