This Broadway musical, based on the equally entertaining 1992 flick starring Whoopi Goldberg, is worthy of praise. Between a desperate convent of nuns and Deloris, a sassy street “sister” whose gangster boyfriend is dead set on putting her in the grave, there’s plenty to be said about the power of divine intervention.
