The Avett Brothers, Shovels & Rope
It’s been nearly two years since the Avett Brothers performed in Charlotte, so what better way to make it up to area fans than by playing a New Year’s Eve show just like they used to? The only difference is a much larger venue this time around. Regardless of how long they’ve been on the road, what album they’re touring in support of (Magpie and the Dandelion) or when their last area show was, the Avetts always bring a renewed energy to a hometown performance. Sure, they played a fundraiser in Concord earlier this year and appeared at Chris Cornell’s show earlier this month, but it’s New Year’s Eve. Expect something special around midnight.
