The folks who compete in the World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest are serious. Not only do they want to showoff their skills with keys, but they also want to bring a revival to the musical form known as ragtime. In The Entertainers, directed by Mchael Zimmer and Nick Holle, we get an insiders look at six piano players who are competing for the title. Among them is Ethan Uslan, a Charlotte pianist who frequents Petra’s Piano Bar & Cabaret, often playing music to accompany silent film screenings. Uslan, who specializes in ragtime, will perform live after the screening of The Entertainers.
