The Great Divorce

Forget a limo, we’re taking the bus! Not the way one might imagine a journey to heaven, but life isn’t always about choices — or is it? In C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce, those caught in the afterlife transportation blunder do in fact have a say on where they want to go — to hell, disguised as the grim “grey town,” or to heaven, described by guiding spirits as a place of everlasting joy. There’s just one catch on getting into heaven, and that’s repentance — also a big turn-off for folks who aren’t quite ready to forget all those evil earthly pleasures. Fellowship for the Performing Arts, who brought Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters to the Q.C. back in 2012, present this thought-provoking production that examines the nature of the human soul, eternal life and free will. The bus stops at Knight Theater on Feb. 15 and 16. (Anita Overcash)
