The Queers, Biggy Stardust and His Wretched Hive, Dirty South Revolutionaries, Chalkies

When: Fri., Nov. 27 2015
THE QUEERS

As Spinal Tap’s Nigel Tufnel said, “There’s a fine line between stupid and clever.” Melodic punk thrashers The Queers gleefully trample all over that line. With album titles like Love Songs for the Retarded, singer/guitarist Joe King’s combo has raised snarky immaturity to an art form, making them worthy successors to The Ramones’ so-dumb-they’re smart aesthetic. Like The Ramones, The Queers balance parody with pop. (Pat Moran)
