Playwright Alan Ball’s Five Women Wearing the Same Dress was penned in 1993, but remains relevant today. That’s because weddings bring out the crazy in people, and this play, set behind the scenes at a reception in Knoxville, Tennessee, proves the rule. The groom and bride are never seen but we hear about them through a five-piece group of bridesmaids, each with their own baggage and quirks. (Anita Overcash)
