“Artificial Heads and the Market: How Traditional Approaches to Hunting Affected the Origins of the Yamasee War," presented by Professor Bill Ramsey, Lander University This presentation revisits one of the principal arguments put forward in William L. Ramsey’s book, “The Yamasee War: A Study of Culture, Economy, and Conflict in the Colonial South,” namely, that market influence acted as a stressor in the Anglo-Indian trade relationship and thus contributed to the outbreak of the Yamasee War in 1715.
