January 20 – March 11, 2016 Voices– Cat Del Buono Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery Winthrop University Galleries "Voices" is an exhibition designed to draw attention to domestic violence, eradicate the silence that surrounds it and empower survivors. On 20 small video monitors, anonymous domestic violence survivors recount personal traumas. As a collection, the concert of voices creates a symphony of incomprehensible words—the viewer must come close to hear each narrative clearly. Del Buono’s installation reminds audiences that there are real human beings behind the statistics.
