Central Piedmont Community College’s Summer Theatre kicked off the season by knocking it out of the ballpark with the comedic Damn Yankees. Now onto more mysterious subject matter, the group is set to perform Frederick Knott’s Wait Until Dark. In the play, a group of con men terrorize a blind woman, Susy, who they believe has a doll filled with their heroin. The doll, dumbly transported by her hubby for a complete stranger he met on a flight, has since been given to a neighbor’s child (how nice!). But rather than help a bunch of scumbags, Susy takes matters into her own hands. Local actors Christian Casper, Jerry Colbert and Caroline Renfro star in lead roles of the production, which can be seen at Pease Auditorium through July 11.
