Friday, Feb. 6 is the American Heart Association's National Wear Red Day.
From TalkingShopping.com:

If you can, don't just wear red, make a donation!
New York Fashion Week starts next Friday, Feb. 13, but some designers are opting to stay out of the high-profile, highly expensive event.
Vera Wang, known for her wedding gowns donned by celebrity brides, Betsey Johnson, who's dressed the likes of "Courtney Love, Salma Hayek, Cyndi Lauper and Helena Bonham Carter," and Carmen Marc Valvo, whose client list includes "Kate Winslett, Oprah Winfrey and Iman, David Bowie's model wife," will all be showcasing their new collections privately, away from the famous catwalk.
By doing so, they'll probably save anywhere from $100,000 to $750,000.
Gee, even the rich and pretty are going through hard times.
