Fire My Desire Boutique is a lingerie store located in the University area for "easy access" for college students. In fact, those who can present a valid college ID even get a little discount. And heads up if you're still looking for a Halloween costume (like me!): Sexy costumes are on sale. Options include sexy valet, sexy police officer, sexy ... well, you get the picture. Pura Vida is an eclectic gift shop of culture located in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood. If you like bright colors, art and learning about other cultures, this is the place to check out. According to their Web site, the folks at Pura Vida believe "that exposure to and knowledge of other cultures fosters positive relationships and a stronger community." Amen to that.

Milk Money Children’s Boutique is hosting a shoe drive to benefit Soles4Souls™ Inc., the international footwear charity that delivers shoes to needy people around the world.
During the shoe drive, Milk Money will be offering a $5 discount to all customers who bring in gently worn pairs of shoes toward the effort. The shoe drive will continue through Aug. 30.

On BestBuy.com, there's a listing for a Samsung 52-inch TV for $9.99. It's probably a typo ... but what if it's not? What if the shopping gods of Best Buy are smiling down on us poor, recession-torn folks ...
