Triple homicides shake the city

Crime may be down in Charlotte, but triple homicides shook the city yesterday. According to a report by WCNC, two men fell victim to gunshot wounds while one woman was fatally stabbed in three unrelated incidents. Here's more info from WCNC about crime in Charlotte for the first five months of 2009:

Crime decreased by 24.5 percent.

Property crime decreased by 24.3 percent. (23.4 percent for houses and 31 percent for commercial properties.)

Vehicle thefts decreased by 35.4 percent.

Larceny decreased by 22.2 percent.

Robberies decreased by 26.8 percent.

Rapes increased by 4.6 percent.
