Slain ex-NFL player didn't have a will

Steve McNair, who was shot and killed by his girlfriend on July 4th, didn't have a will, according to the Associated Press.

Just because you're not planning to die, if you're rich, you should have a will.

According to the Associated Press story:

Davidson County Probate Judge Randy Kennedy granted Mechelle McNair's request to administer the estate and gave her 60 days to file an inventory of her late husband's assets. She said in court documents that she did not know her late husband's worth, but documents contend it is "of sufficient size to be administered."

As if Mechelle McNair didn't have enough to deal with. It's easy to see that this could get ugly since Steve McNair had two children from a previous relationship and according to the AP, Mechelle McNair lists herself and her two children with Steve McNair as the only heirs to his estate.
