Did anyone think Edwards wasn't the poppa?

How is the fact that former N.C. Sen. John Edwards is finally telling the truth breaking news? Oh, wait. I just answered my own question.

Stop apologizing, John, start acting like a grown up and, more importantly, start wearing a condom.

Former Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards admits in a written statement to NBC that he is the father of a 2-year-old daughter by Rielle Hunter, who worked as a campaign videographer.

In his statement, Edwards acknowledges the affair and tells NBC News that he is taking responsibility for the child, Frances Quinn Hunter:

"I am Quinn's father. I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves. I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace.

The former North Carolina senator says he was wrong to deny it, and hopes his daughter will forgive him "one day, when she understands ..."

"To all those I have disappointed and hurt these words will never be enough, but I am truly sorry," Edwards writes.
