With primary season just around the corner (it's May 4th mark your calendar), you might want to start thinking about your options. There are three Democrats vying for Sen. Richard Burr seat alone.
There's Ken Lewis the lawyer, not the banker. There's Cal Cunningham. And, there's Elaine Marshall.
According to Pollster.com, last week's poll of North Carolina voters has Marshall in the lead, but not by much. Any idea why? (No? Me, either. I don't know enough about any of these candidates to make a voting decision yet.)
In the U.S. House of Representatives race, Nancy Shakir is running against Larry Kissell (a.k.a., Mr. I-don't-care-about-who-voted-for-me) in the 8th District.
Those aren't the only people running, but these are the people who came up in conversation at last night's Drinking Liberally meet-up at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille.
But, don't expect all of the talk to be about politics. The point of the group is to get together with like-minded individuals and to have a good time. With that, congrats on winning all that beer in the trivia game last night guys!
Drinking Liberally got its start in New York City. You can read all about the group's beginnings here.
If you're interested in meeting up with the Charlotte group at their next bi-monthly meeting, on April 7, sign up for their e-mail list (here) to stay in the loop. You can also follow them on Twitter and Facebook. (Don't judge their Twitter page yet, they're just getting started on that site -- so, instead, offer them a warm welcome.)
