This just in ... Kaplan College now teaching in Charlotte

There is a new college in town. Welcome to Kaplan:

Classes began this week at the new Kaplan College campus in Charlotte. The Kaplan Higher Education institution, located at 6070 E. Independence Blvd., will help serve the community’s needs for career-focused education and provide local employers with skilled graduates in high-demand fields.

“As our first school in North Carolina, our Charlotte campus will bring high-quality educational services, strong curriculum and a personal approach to area students,” said Beth Hollenberg, president of Kaplan Higher Education Campuses. “We are committed to offering market-relevant education so that our graduates are able to serve local employment needs.”

Led by Connie Jakubcin, executive director of Kaplan College, the Charlotte campus opens by offering four diploma programs in medical assisting, dental assisting, medical billing and coding specialist, and computer support technician. These programs are designed to aid students in obtaining the knowledge, technical skills and work habits to pursue a wide variety of entry-level positions in their field of study. “Our flexible class schedules give students the option to participate in a variety of career-focused programs while balancing work, family and other responsibilities.”college’s nearly 30,000 square-foot facility features multiple classrooms, which include five computer labs, two medical assistant labs, one dental assistant lab, lecture rooms and a learning resource center. Kaplan College offers each student job search assistance through its career services department and tutoring at no extra charge.The Kaplan College Charlotte campus is nationally accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE). COE is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education.
